First and foremost, we believe we have a duty to consumers of our products to ensure that they are of the highest quality, are manufactured in a controlled way by experts in their fields and that they are effective. We live by the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice which drives quality across everything we do. This means everything we make is documented, tested, checked, audited and independently verified before it gets to the consumer. And we can trace every step and person involved in the manufacture of every single product.
We take our responsibility as a good employer seriously. We believe it is our duty to run a sustainable business so that we can provide jobs for people in our communities. It’s important to us that our people are paid fairly, have a safe working environment, good working conditions and capable managers who act fairly and are focussed on helping their people develop. We strive to go beyond legal minimums for our people. Our aim is to create a diverse environment where all people are inspired to do their life’s best work at Douglas.
We believe in supporting the local communities in which we operate. Our philanthropic efforts, in partnership with the Douglas Charitable Trust, are therefore proudly directed towards the communities where our people work. We support the local schools and communities in West Auckland and Fiji where the majority of our people live.
We’re innovators, experimenters and manufacturers. But this is done with respect to the environment. We invest a huge amount of effort and resources into reducing waste and disposing of any by-products of manufacturing in an environmentally safe manner. We are neither wasteful nor extravagant in what we do.
